How do homework and tests work in Typewriter?
How to create and control homework, exercises and tests in Typewriter via the Upload menu.
In addition to the predefined lessons, Typewriter lets you run tests and assign homework with ease.
Homework (exercises) and tests can be created and managed via the “Upload” menu.
There you can import predefined lessons and release them as homework, exercise or test. The fundamental difference between an exercise and a test is that students cannot repeat tests on their own. Tests are also evaluated specifically — every single typing error can be reported back to the learner (also as a PDF).
Many classes are well motivated when they work toward bigger goals. It can make sense to schedule certain learning checks early and announce them to the children. For example: announce a test on lesson 5 for the first of December. To make this stress-free for the children, a corresponding practice test or releasing the text as an exercise as well can be helpful.
Typewriter takes the marking workload off teachers. The time gained makes it possible to check performance data regularly and give feedback to the children. Share tips on practising well and the right hand and body posture. Motivate the children. That work the computer cannot do for you.
More detailed information on creating exercises and tests can be found in the Typewriter manual.
