Research since 2002
More than a learning program — we see ourselves first and foremost as a research project. Over two decades of uninterrupted operation yield data on computer-based learning.
-
Origin and idea
Born in 2002 as part of a master’s thesis in media education at the Danube University Krems. Today a research project at the University of Teacher Education Vorarlberg under Thomas Schroffenegger.
-
Research question
What value do media-supported learning scenarios add? We look at learning outcomes by gender, age, handedness and motivation.
-
Research for practice
Comparative studies plus continuous product improvements cut learning time by about 40 % — and feed insights into didactics and teacher training.
-
Country, canton, general
Since 2015 the first canton-wide version has been running in Schwyz. Today Luzern, St. Gallen, Nidwalden, Obwalden, Glarus, Uri and more cantons are evaluated comparably.
-
Research — what for?
Analysis of the first 100,000 lessons in Schwyz: students who start slower reach the learning goal sooner overall — a finding that goes straight into teacher training.
Recurring research questions
- Are girls more diligent?
- Do younger children learn more easily?
- Do right-handers have an advantage?
- Does formal grading improve learning?
Have a specific research question? We design and run studies.
