Always in control of the class: the Type-O-Meter
How the Type-O-Meter in Typewriter shows the whole class’s learning activity in real time.
Observing learning activity is an important factor in good teaching. Typewriter offers helpful functions for it.
A glance at an individual student’s monitor usually gives a snapshot with little information. That’s especially true of learning programs where the learner’s focus is only on the current task. With classic school notebooks, by contrast, you get a quick, comprehensive view of an entire class’s activity.
For this, Typewriter offers the optimal solution: the “Type-O-Meter”. In a dynamic bar chart, the teacher sees in real time all the information needed to diagnose learning difficulties during the lesson — and can therefore respond optimally to the current classroom situation.
Learners with too high a typing speed or who aren’t participating can be identified at a glance, which is the basis for a corresponding didactic intervention.
The Type-O-Meter shows all information for the current day: what’s happening in my lesson today?
What does the Type-O-Meter show me per student?
- The number of completed and current lessons (individual segments of each bar)
- The number of keystrokes typed so far (bar-chart scale)
- The grade / traffic-light colour of completed and current lessons (colour of the bar / segment)
- The typing speed for completed and the current lesson (segment label)
Where do I find the Type-O-Meter?
In the menu item “Class” under the submenu “Type-O-Meter”.
